We know Fisherman's Point holds a special place in your memory, as one of Australia's first Outward Bounders. We also treasure it as Outward Bound Australia's first permanent base, from 1958 until 1973. So we think it's fitting for OBA's 70th birthday we take you back to revisit Fisherman's Point and the Hawkesbury River.

We've chartered a cruise for three hours on Sunday 24th May 2026. For those of you in Sydney who may have been on the Riverboat Postman, it's the same cruise company, and our ship is the M.V Emily Melvey, the only one that can dock at Bar Island. It has toilets on board, an open upper deck and enclosed downstairs to cover all weather possibilities.

The wharf is right beside the platform at Hawkesbury River train station, and there is lift access from the platform to the road. If you choose to drive, there is limited free parking near the wharf.
