Celebrate 70 years of Outward Bound Australia

Families, friends, alumni, past participants, staff and colleagues are invited to spend a memorable weekend at Tharwa as we bring Outward Bound Australia’s 70th anniversary celebrations to a close. Reconnect with old friends, share stories from across seven decades of OBA and celebrate the completion of the new Communal Centre and kitchen at Tharwa Campus. Spend the weekend under the stars or stay in a cabin, enjoy activities around the property and dust off your climbing skills on the high ropes course.

Cabin accommodation and camping options are available.

Weekend Package Itinerary

2.15 - site tour

3-4pm - Official communal centre ribbon cutting and opening

4-5pm - Canapes and light refreshments

Friday 70th Celebration Dinner

Join us from 5pm for a celebration dinner in the brand-new Communal Centre. Not a can of SPAM or Scroggin in sight, enjoy a sit-down dinner with friends old and new to celebrate 70 years of adventure. Followed by some Outward Bound trivia and games. 

Included: Dinner. BYO drinks. 

Saturday Outdoor Activities and Campfire Dinner

Spend Saturday getting back into the Outward Bound spirit with a full day of activities around Tharwa Campus. Choose from a mix of high ropes, climbing wall, bushcraft, games and initiatives, tree planting, flapjack baking and more. In the evening, we will come together to prepare a classic Bush Cook roast over the fires, followed by storytelling and stargazing around the campfire.

Included: All activities, Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks BYO

Sunday pack up

After breakfast, pack up and check out by 10.00 am. While in Tharwa, we recommend a Sunday road trip out to Namadgi Visitors Centre, Orroral Valley, Honeysuckle Campground or Lanyon Homestead. Or enjoy a summit walk of Mt Tennant.

In the spirit of Outward Bound, we've significantly subsidised this weekend to make it as accessible as possible for our community. If you're unable to make it for the whole weekend, you can select separate events below. 

Child prices are for children 12 and under.
